Sadak is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. It stars Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The film is the one of the highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year 1991 with a popular musical score. The film is also fondly remembered for the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar's award-winning performance as the film's villain, Maharani. The film was inspired by the 1976 American movie Taxi Driver. This film was remade in Tamil as Appu (2000), directed by Vasanth with actor Prashanth and Devayani in lead roles, with Prakash Raj as the antagonist.

The film is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The sequel stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, and Aditya Roy Kapur.[2][3] The film marks Mahesh Bhatt's return as a director after 20 years.

sadak 2, featuring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, will hit the theatres next year on July 10. Fox Star Studios announced the new release date of the film on Monday. It was earlier supposed to open on March 25, 2020.





Actor Alia Bhatt has five big projects in her kitty right now and one of them is her father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2. So far, little was known about this sequel to hit 1991 film starring Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt, but a report in Mumbai Mirror has revealed details from the plot.

A source close to the film told the daily that Alia’s character sets out to unmask a godman in the film. “Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram. She is accompanied by Sanjay’s (Dutt) character in this journey. Sanjay has already started prep with Bhatt saab. They start shooting in a fortnight,” said the source.
